Universal Orlando Resort began testing a new version of its virtual line system on Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure today. The new system is fairly similar to the old virtual line system but seems to be a smoother process for guests.
This new version is not tied to the official Universal Orlando Resort app, but rather a website currently testing the new system.
Here’s how it works:
- Guests will scan a QR code to access the virtual queue system and will be asked to log in with their Universal Orlando account. (Or create one) You can also visit vltest.universalorlando.com
- Select “ACTIVATE VIRTUAL LINE”
- Select the number of guests in your part
- Create an account or log in with your Universal Orlando account if you already have one
- Select “CONFIRM”
- Select “Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure”
- Join virtual line for the attraction
Once joined in the virtual line, you are then greeted with a return time to the attraction, once that return time is up, you have 30 minutes to return to the attraction and present your QR code and get in the line.
We tested it out today at the park and it worked very smoothly, with no issues at all. Just be sure to check your virtual line return every so often, we noticed ours got bumped up a few times to an earlier return time. No word from Universal on whether this will come to other rides at the moment and/or be integrated into the official Universal Orlando app, as this is just a test of the new service.
