Ever since the Disney theme parks closed over 2 years ago due to COVID-19, the one thing that has not yet returned to the parks is character interactions, such as giving Mickey Mouse a hug.

As early as April 18, Disney will start again with traditional character greetings at Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts, as well as aboard Disney Cruise Line and at Aulani Resort in Hawaii.
Recent trends and guidance have provided opportunities for Disney to bring back character greetings as well as dining experiences. Not all locations will be available immediately but will be reopening in phases throughout the spring and early summer.
