Kennywood and Idlewild, the region’s Premier Family Destinations for Family Fun, will bring the boo like never before in 2022 with their longest ever Halloween events.

Kennywood’s Phantom Fall Fest opens Saturday, September 24 for the park’s 20th year of frightful Halloween fun. Phantom Fall Fest frights and delights with seven haunted attractions, four scare zones, and more than 35 rides, the biggest and best edition of Kennywood’s Halloween event since its debut in 2002. New in 2022 is mAlice in Wonderland, an indoor haunted attraction, will offer an unprecedented choose-your-own-adventure trip through the looking glass, creating a different experience for every guest. Pick your rabbit hole and seal your fate. The evil residents of Wonderland will be your guide – but beware of the mad Red Queen!

“There is no other place that offers so much Halloween fun – haunts, scares, popular rides and family fun – at such a great value,” says Kennywood General Manager Mark Pauls. “The best way to experience it all is with a 2023 Gold or Platinum Season Pass, which offers unlimited visits for free this year, plus all of 2023.”

Phantom Fall Fest adds 15 additional operating days to the 2022 Season, and allows you to do Halloween your way. Come early for family-friendly fun, including festive food and a unique autumn atmosphere. Then, when the sun goes down, the Phantom takes screams to the extreme with terrifying haunts and spine-chilling scare zones. Whether you want to Play All Day, Fright All Night, or do both, Halloween at Kennywood will be better, bigger, and scarier than ever before with:

  • Haunts and scare zones like Shady Grove Memorial HospitalArk in the Dark, Voodoo Bayou, and more;
  • The all-new mAlice in Wonderland haunted maze;
  • Popular roller coasters, classic rides plus Kiddieland and Thomas Town; and
  • Daytime activities for kids of all ages.

Kennywood’s sister park, Idlewild launches HallowBOO!  beginning September 24 for 12 days of family-fun. HallowBOO! features three not-so-scary mazes, the Story Book Forest Trick-or-Treat Trail, rides on HallowBOO! Express Railroad, stays at the converted Confusion Hill Wacky Witches Inn, and two Spook-tacular stage shows, Jack-O-Lantern Jive and Monster Mash – that will keep the little goblins hopping. New for 2022, Character Meet and Greets every day with Daniel Tiger and his Neighborhood Friends. Plus, enjoy many of the park’s most popular rides and attractions in Olde Idlewild, Jumpin’ Jungle, Hootin’ Holler, and Raccoon Lagoon.

The best way to experience Phantom Fall Fest and HallowBOO! is with a Season Pass. 2023 Passes are on sale now, with Gold passes offering free admission for the rest of 2022 plus unlimited visits in 2023 at each park. Platinum Passes offer the best of both worlds with unlimited visits to Kennywood, Sandcastle Waterpark and Idlewild for the remainder of 2022 for free, plus all of 2023.
