Disney held their Destination D23 presentation today at Walt Disney World Resort and highlighted the past, present, and future of the Disney theme park. Disney World was part of those announcements and we got a few updates about the upcoming additions to Magic Kingdom.

First up, we got the announcement that the Hatbox Ghost will be making his debut at Magic Kingdom in late November inside the Haunted Mansion attraction. See the concept photo above.

We also got a sneak peek at some of the animatronics coming to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure coming to Magic Kingdom in 2024.

A new tavern is coming to Adventureland in Magic Kingdom based on Pirates of the Caribbean featuring the Barker Bird. According to the concept artwork, it looks like it will be going in the former Pirates League area.

It was also announced that the Country Bear Jamboree is getting new songs and the Bears will be performing a new act in 2024. Disney Imagineer Chris Beatty says when the show debuts, the bears will be reinterpreting favorite Disney songs in different genres of country music.

No specific details were announced, but Bruce Vaughn from Walt Disney Imagineering talked about the future of Disney parks, with some hints about a “big big” expansion coming to Magic Kingdom beyond Big Thunder Mountain, which is about to “go into overdrive” according to Josh D’Amaro. It was also mentioned that this new expansion could be bigger than Galaxy’s Edge and Pandora.
