This weekend at Destination D23, Disney Parks announced several new updates on experiences coming to Epcot. Including a re-imagined Test Track and opening dates for Journey of Water Inspired by Moana, the new nighttime spectacular, Figment character meet and greet, and more.
Everyone’s favorite purple dragon Figment will begin greeting guests at EPCOT on Sept. 10 You will be able to meet the iconic dragon at the Imagination Pavilion at EPCOT.
Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana and a new Moana meet and greet will open on Oct. 16, 2023. Journey of Water is a brand new walk-through experience located in the World Nature neighborhood.
Also, Moana makes her first appearance in the park in her own dedicated meet and greet near Journey of Water Inspired by Moana.
“Luminous The Symphony of Us”, the new night-time spectacular coming to EPCOT will debut on Dec. 5, 2023. The brand-new show will feature fireworks, fountains, lasers, lighting effects, and Disney music.
Disney also announced that the World Celebration neighborhood at EPCOT will finally begin welcoming guests this December. World Celebration will tie the World Discovery and World Nature neighborhoods together with World Celebration. The completion of the last of the park’s three neighborhoods marks a major milestone in the multi-year update to EPCOT.
It was also announced that Asha from the new Walt Disney Animation Studios film “Wish” will soon be coming to EPCOT.
And last but not least and maybe the most exciting announcement is that Test Track is being re-imagined. The Disney Imagineers along with teams from Chevrolet are taking inspiration from the original World of Motion attraction to bring that attraction’s spirit of optimism to the next version of Test Track. More will be released in the future.
It was also announced later in the day that Soarin’ Over California will be returning to EPCOT on September 22 for a limited time as part of the Disney100 celebration.
