Walt Disney Imagineering Offices Replacing Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser

Disney World’s now-closed Galactic Starcruiser Star Wars hotel experience had its opening voyage in March of 2022 and its last voyage on September 28, 2023, and then closed permanently. There has been much discussion as to what Disney World will do with the now-closed Star Wars-themed experience. Would it be turned into a Star Wars-themed hotel? Demolished? No one knew exactly what Disney was going to do with the structure.
We now know that Disney World plans to repurpose the Galactic Starcruiser into Walt Disney Imagineering offices. Imagineers have several upcoming projects at Walt Disney World and this will provide them with a sort of “hub” for these new projects, including the Tropical Americas expansion at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the new Monsters Inc. land coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and the Cars-themed land and Villains land coming to Magic Kingdom Park.
There is no word from Disney as to what will become of the office buildings/Galactic Starcruiser after these projects are concluded at Disney World, but we will keep you updated.
