The rumors are finally true! After weeks of cryptic clues, mysterious “TS” billboards popping up from London to Los Angeles, and some very clever fan sleuthing, Taylor Swift has officially confirmed her involvement in the highly anticipated Toy Story 5.
Taylor took to social media to share the exciting news, writing, “It’s a Toy Story. You knew it!”
The Grammy-winning superstar revealed that she has written and recorded an original song for the film titled “I Knew It, I Knew You.” Co-written and produced with her longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff, the track is set to drop on June 5—just ahead of the movie’s worldwide theatrical release on June 19, 2026.
According to Disney, the song is deeply inspired by Jessie the cowgirl. It marks an exciting return to Taylor’s country roots, blending the storytelling style that her fans know and love with the heart of the Toy Story franchise.

For Taylor, this project is a full-circle moment. “I’ve always dreamed of getting to write for these characters who I’ve adored since I was a five-year-old kid watching the first Toy Story movie,” she shared.
She also revealed how quickly inspiration struck: after getting an early look at the film, she felt an instant connection to the story and wrote the song as soon as she got home. “Sometimes you just know, right?” she added.
Director Andrew Stanton couldn’t be happier with the collaboration, noting that the song feels like a “long-lost family member” of the franchise. “Her connection to Jessie and the immediate way she understood what the character was going through was undeniable,” he said.
If you’re eager to hear the track, you’ll be able to stream it starting June 5. Taylor has also made three exclusive CD editions available for pre-order on her official website—the original version, an acoustic version, and a piano version, each with unique production.

Whether you’re a lifelong Pixar fan or a dedicated Swiftie, this is shaping up to be one of the biggest cinematic moments of the summer. Are you ready for Toy Story 5? I know I am!
Catch Toy Story 5 in theaters starting June 19, 2026!
