LEGOLAND® Florida Resort has announced that LEGO® Pokémon™ will headline the new “Play Zone” at this year’s LEGO® Festival. Fans of all ages will have the chance to step into a real-world Pokémon trainer experience, blending imaginative brick-building with the brand-new LEGO® SMART Play™ system.
What to Expect in the Play Zone
The Play Zone is designed to bring the Pokémon world to life through interactive, screen-free, hands-on play. Here’s how you can join the action:
- Become a Trainer: Embark on a training journey to bond with, nurture, and train a selection of five Pokémon.
- SMART Play™ Experience: Be among the first in the world to test this new system. You can build snacks for your Pokémon, add a SMART tag, and watch how they react!
- Interactive Building: Create your own LEGO Poké Ball, explore the Trainer Center, and get up close with a giant LEGO Pikachu model perfect for photo ops.
- Epic Battles: Put your training to the test in exciting, brick-built battles.

A New Way to Play
The LEGO® SMART Play™ system aims to make playtime more dynamic, social, and active. By integrating technology into physical bricks, the system creates a deeper connection between the player and their creation, allowing for more immersive catching, bonding, and training—all without the need for screens.
“LEGO® Pokémon™ brings an exciting new way for families to play together at this year’s LEGO® Festival,” says Brian Bacica, Park President of LEGOLAND Florida Resort. “Whether you’re a lifelong Pokémon fan or discovering it for the first time, families can build and share unforgettable moments together.”
Plan Your Visit
The LEGO® Festival is included with regular park admission and runs from July 20 to August 16, 2026. The park will feature five interactive zones—Music, Creative, Chill-Out, Thrill, and the new Play Zone—offering something for every member of the family.
While the LEGO® Festival is taking place at multiple LEGOLAND resorts worldwide, the Play Zone experience will be a highlight at LEGOLAND Florida, California, New York, Deutschland, and Windsor.
Are you ready to head to LEGOLAND and catch ’em all with your family this summer?
