Level99, the massive, real-world social gaming venue, has officially locked in its dates. Tickets will go on sale Monday, June 22, and the venue will officially open its doors to the public on Monday, June 29.
If you are lucky enough to be among the first 500 players through the door on opening day, you’ll even score a commemorative pin to celebrate the launch!
What Exactly is Level99?
Think of it as a massive, high-tech playground built specifically for adults and teens. Spanning a whopping 46,800 square feet over two floors, the Disney Springs location will feature 63 physical and mental mini-games—making it the largest Level99 venue ever built.
When you check in, you are handed an RFID-powered “Veloband.” You use this wristband to tap into any challenge room you want, in any order, as many times as you want during your timed session. The venue even tracks your progression, meaning you can save your stats and pick up right where you left off on your next trip.
The games themselves take about 1 to 4 minutes each, are designed for groups of 2 to 6 players, and fit into three main styles:
- Challenge Rooms: Team up cooperatively to beat physical and mental tasks.
- Player-vs-Player Duels: Go head-to-head against your friends to see who reigns supreme.
- Art Scavenger Hunt: Track down hidden clues hidden within the venue’s 40-plus original art pieces.
The press release highlighted a few specific games we can look forward to, like Axe Run (where you sprint across narrow beams while dodging swinging axes) and Mansion Banquet (a fast-paced seat-assignment logic puzzle).
Fantastic Food & Local Brews
Level99 isn’t just about gaming; they are also bringing a heavy-hitting culinary game to the West Side. The center of the venue features a massive, two-story bar serving up handcrafted cocktails and local beers on tap.
Instead of basic theme park snack food, they are serving up a scratch-made, elevated menu. Highlights include:
- Award-Winning Detroit-Style Pizza: 24-hour cold fermented dough baked in steel pans for that iconic crispy cheese edge.
- Wagyu Burgers: Domestic wagyu beef topped with sharp white cheddar and brown butter aioli.
- Loaded Elote Guacamole: Charred corn, queso fresco, and lime crema served with fresh tortillas.
