Universal Destinations & Experiences has just announced a massive crossover that will shake up this year’s Halloween Horror Nights: an all-new scare zone inspired by Fortnite’s signature seasonal event, Fortnitemares.
Whether you’re heading to Universal Orlando Resort or Universal Studios Hollywood, you’ll soon have the chance to step right out of the screen and into the game.
Welcome to Freaky Fields
Forget dropping into the usual battle royale—at Halloween Horror Nights, guests will find themselves thrust directly into Freaky Fields, a living, breathing battleground overtaken by a dark and threatening force.
As you navigate the zone, you’ll encounter iconic elements from the global gaming phenomenon, including the legendary Battle Bus. Keep your eyes peeled for familiar Fortnitemares fan-favorite characters, alongside brand-new, exclusive additions created specifically for Halloween Horror Nights. Will you survive the chaos, or will you end up back in the lobby?
Gear Up Early with New Merchandise
You don’t have to wait until fall to start repping your favorite crossover. Universal has already dropped a brand-new line of Fortnitemares-inspired scare zone merchandise, featuring:
- A themed graphic tee
- A decal set
- An acrylic collectible piece
The new merch is available now at Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood, and hits ShopUniversal.com tomorrow, Thursday, July 23, at 9:00 AM PST.

The terror kicks off early this year!
- Universal Orlando Resort: Select nights from Friday, August 28 through Sunday, November 1.
- Universal Studios Hollywood: Select nights from Thursday, September 3 through Sunday, November 1.
