A major transformation is coming to one of Walt Disney World’s most iconic thrill rides.
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets is set to debut in summer 2026 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, bringing a completely new storyline, characters, and soundtrack to the high-speed attraction.
The Electric Mayhem Takes Center Stage
The reimagined coaster will feature The Electric Mayhem, the legendary Muppets house band, as they prepare for their biggest concert yet.
There’s just one problem. The band is missing.
Guests will step into G-Force Records, now under new management by The Muppets, for a behind-the-scenes studio tour that quickly turns into a chaotic race across Los Angeles to get the band to their show on time.
It’s a concept that fits surprisingly well with the ride’s original structure. The idea of rushing to a concert has always been part of the DNA of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, and swapping in the Muppets adds a layer of humor and unpredictability that feels very on-brand.
A New Look for a Classic Entrance
The attraction’s exterior is also getting a refresh.
The iconic guitar will remain, but with a more colorful, psychedelic design inspired by The Muppets. There are small details woven into the redesign, including a golden key nod to Dr. Teeth and a more playful overall aesthetic.
It’s not a complete departure from what guests recognize, but enough of a change to signal that something very different is happening inside.
Music Will Drive the Experience
As expected, music will play a major role in the updated attraction.
Guests will race through the experience with tracks performed by The Electric Mayhem, including “Song 2,” which has already been teased as part of the ride’s soundtrack.

The focus on a curated set list feels like a natural evolution of the ride. Instead of a single artist tie-in, this version leans into a band known for its chaotic, high-energy style, which should translate well to the ride’s launches, inversions, and fast-paced moments.
A Muppet-Filled Ride Through Hollywood
The ride itself will still feature the high-speed launch and twists the coaster is known for, but the journey will now take on a Muppet-inspired version of Hollywood.
With help from Muppet Labs and a very fast limousine, guests will speed through the city, encountering familiar landmarks reimagined with Muppet humor along the way.
It keeps the core ride experience intact while layering in a completely new tone.
What This Means for the Attraction
This update marks a significant shift for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster.
Rather than simply refreshing the ride, Disney is fully re-theming it with a new story, new characters, and a new identity. It also brings The Muppets into a major attraction role at Hollywood Studios, something fans have been hoping to see more of.
At the same time, the ride’s core thrill elements remain unchanged, which means longtime fans can expect the same high-speed experience, just with a very different soundtrack and story.
