Universal CityWalk Orlando is continuing to evolve, with several new experiences on the way that will add even more dining, shopping, and entertainment options to what’s already one of the most active areas of Universal Orlando Resort.
From a returning fan-favorite retail concept to new food and a major live entertainment venue, the updates span both short-term additions and longer-term developments.
The Universal Legacy Store Returns
One of the most exciting additions, especially for longtime Universal fans, is the return of the Universal Legacy Store, set to open in late April.
The store will feature retro-inspired merchandise and photo opportunities tied to classic Universal attractions and films, including E.T., Jaws, Back to the Future, and Universal Monsters.
For a lot of guests, this is the kind of store that hits differently. It leans into nostalgia in a way that feels very intentional, bringing back pieces of Universal’s history that don’t always get the spotlight in the parks anymore.
The Legacy Store will take over the space currently occupied by the Epic Universe Preview Center, which is scheduled to close on April 13.
Five Guys Joins the CityWalk Lineup

On the dining side, Five Guys is set to open later this summer, replacing the existing Burger King Whopper Bar location.
It’s a straightforward addition, but one that makes a lot of sense for CityWalk. Five Guys has a strong following, and having a reliable, made-to-order burger option in the mix gives guests another easy, familiar choice in between the more themed dining experiences.
Luke Combs’ Category 10 Brings Live Music to the Waterfront

Looking further ahead, a major new entertainment venue is also in development.
Country music star Luke Combs is partnering with Opry Entertainment Group to bring Category 10, a live music venue, to a new waterfront location at CityWalk, with an expected opening in 2027.
The venue will combine live performances with food and drinks, adding another layer to CityWalk’s nightlife and entertainment offerings. Given the popularity of similar venues in Nashville, this has the potential to become a major draw, especially in the evenings.
A Continued Evolution for CityWalk
These additions reflect how Universal continues to treat CityWalk as more than just an entry point to the parks.
With a mix of retail, dining, and entertainment updates happening at once, the complex is gradually expanding its role as a standalone destination. Whether guests are heading into the parks or just looking for something to do at night, CityWalk continues to build out experiences that can fill an entire evening on their own.
More details on these projects are expected in the coming months as opening dates get closer.
