Star Wars fans visiting the Disneyland Resort will soon have a brand-new way to experience a galaxy far, far away. Batuu Adventure Buddies, an innovative line of interactive creatures inspired by the Star Wars universe, are preparing to make their grand debut.

Designed to immerse guests even deeper into their own galactic tales, the collection kicks off with the Ewok Batuu Adventure Buddy—complete with its very own carrying sling. This highly anticipated release marks the first of three unique companions in the lineup and officially launches on August 13, 2026, at Droid Depot within Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Park.

Brought to Life with Cutting-Edge Features

Each Batuu Adventure Buddy is crafted to feel like a living, breathing creature from the Star Wars cosmos. Utilizing advanced technology, these companions offer deeply engaging, tactile play through several key features:

  • Interactive Touch Responses: Buddies are designed to react directly to a guest’s attention, responding dynamically to gentle head pats and belly taps. For the Ewok Buddy, delivering three quick, consecutive head pats unlocks two exclusive interactive animations: Dance Party and Forest Call Chain.
  • Expressive Details: Bringing distinct personality to each companion, the Buddies feature dynamic LCD eye expressions, motorized facial movements, and authentic signature character sounds.
  • Accessory-Responsive Play: The interaction goes even further when guests place optional accessories—such as food, toys, or tools—directly into the Buddy’s hands. These customizable gear sets and optional add-ons draw inspiration from iconic destinations and beloved characters from all across the galaxy.

Following the initial launch of the Ewok companion, the remaining two Buddies in the collection will roll out at Disneyland Park at a later date. Following their West Coast debut, the complete trio of Batuu Adventure Buddies will eventually make their way to Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World Resort, bringing the adventure to East Coast fans as well.
