Fast & Furious Celebrates 25 Years With New Merchandise, Global Events and Theme Park Experiences

The Fast & Furious franchise is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a major global campaign spanning new collectibles, apparel, retail activations, fan events and theme park experiences.

Since The Fast and the Furious first hit theaters in 2001, the franchise has grown into one of Universal’s biggest global properties. This anniversary celebration looks back at that history while also setting up what’s next, including Fast Forever, arriving in theaters in 2028, and a new live-action Fast & Furious series coming to Peacock.

New Collectibles and Merchandise

A big part of the celebration is focused on the cars that helped define the franchise.

Fans can expect new products from major brands including:

  • Jada Toys, with premium die-cast vehicles and a new Brian O’Conner Nissan Skyline GT-R resin model
  • Hot Wheels, with new Premium Fast & Furious vehicles and appearances at select Hot Wheels Legends Tour stops
  • LEGO, with new Speed Champions and Technic sets inspired by cars like the Toyota Supra MK4, Mitsubishi Eclipse and Dom’s Dodge Charger R/T

Universal is also rolling out anniversary apparel through retailers including BoxLunch, Her Universe, Old Navy and Walmart.

Theme Parks Join the Celebration

Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort are also marking the anniversary with new Fast & Furious apparel and accessories.

The timing lines up with a major expansion of the franchise in the parks. Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift is set to open at Universal Studios Hollywood this year, with the attraction also planned for Universal Orlando Resort next year.

For theme park fans, that makes this anniversary feel like more than just a merchandise campaign. Universal is clearly using the milestone to build momentum around the franchise’s next generation of attractions.

A Global Celebration

The 25th anniversary campaign will extend around the world with retail and experiential activations in the U.S., China, Japan, the UK and Europe.

Highlights include a national Mobil 1 sweepstakes, a 16-stop car tour in China, a Fast & Furious pop-up with Don Quixote in Japan and appearances at major automotive events throughout Europe.

After 25 years, the franchise still revolves around the same things that made it popular in the first place: recognizable cars, over-the-top action and, of course, family. With new films, television projects and theme park attractions on the horizon, it does not look like Universal is slowing down anytime soon.
